<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize poor conveyance of a label when printing is started after a printer is left as it is for a while. <P>SOLUTION: A printer includes a holding means, a conveyance means, a print means, and a conveyance control means. The holding means is configured to hold a printing medium wound in a roll, the printing medium having an adhesive surface and a print surface. The conveyance means is configured to release a free end of the printing medium from the roll held by the holding means to convey the printing medium. The print means is configured to print information on the printing surface of the printing medium in the conveyance process by the conveyance means. The conveyance control means is configured to control the conveyance speed of the printing medium conveyed by the conveyance means, in the print processing other than continuous printing, such that acceleration of the printing medium in the initial conveyance becomes a first acceleration which is preset at a low level, and after elapsing the conveyance period with the first acceleration, acceleration of the printing medium becomes a second acceleration which is set higher than the first acceleration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
