<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus issuing a license key inherently to a device, to serve as a license key interpreted by only a specified device, and capable of limiting a function of the device, irrespective of a state of other device, and to provide a control method for the recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This recording apparatus includes a recording unit for receiving an image data transmitted from a host computer, and for printing the image data, and includes an input unit for inputting an authentication code, and an analytical unit for analyzing the authentication code, the authentication code includes an expiration date data, and the recording apparatus executes a prescribed operation, when an expiration date of an analytical result in the authentication code is over, to stop printing in the recording apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
