Disclosed is a fan rotor blade that is provided with: a blade body configured from a composite material of a reinforcing fiber and a thermoset or thermoplastic resin; a blade root formed from the composite material integrally with the base end of the blade body; and a sheath attached to the leading edge of the blade body and extending in the spanwise direction. The sheath is provided with a sheath body and a pair of joining pieces extending integrally from both sides of the trailing edge of the sheath body, and is partitioned into a sheath base-end portion and a sheath tip-end portion. The sheath tip-end portion has a length that is smoothly continuous with that of the sheath base-end portion, and that is at least the length of the sheath base-end portion in the spanwise direction. The sheath length of the sheath body at an imaginary position of impact on the sheath tip-end portion at the outermost side in the radial direction that impacts foreign materials sucked into an engine case is at least 10% of the chord length and no greater than 60% of the chord length. The sheath length of the sheath of the tip edge of the fan rotor blade is at least 40% of the chord length. The abovementioned fan rotor blade has sufficient shock resistance and can be simplified and made more lightweight. |
