<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head improved in reliability and stability by reducing fluctuation of a floating amount, and a disk device. <P>SOLUTION: The opposite surface 43 of the slider 42 of the head 40 includes a leading step 50 located on the flow-in side of an air flow, a leading pad 52 located on the leading step, a negative pressure cavity 54 located on the downstream side of the leading pad, a trailing step 58 located on the flow-out end side of the air flow and having a head part, a center rail 66 extending from the leading step to the trailing step, a guide groove 68 formed in the center rail to guide the air flow to the trailing step, an introduction groove 70 formed in the leading pad, extending in a direction to intersect the air flow, communicated with the guide groove, whose both ends 70a in a longitudinal direction extends to the flow-in end side in the direction of the air flow, and having an opening 72 opened to the flow-in end of the leading pad. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
