ACOUSTIC TRANSDUCER FOR TUBE BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved type of acoustic transducer to be used on a tube body.

SOLUTION: An acoustic transducer is configured by transducer elements positioned in a bow shape or on bow-shaped members which are arranged and adjusted around a tube body. The bow-shaped members supply voltage to the transducer elements by a conductor. In one embodiment, metal bow-shaped members are used. Using an embodiment practiced as an acoustic source, a borehole acoustic mode is excited. In some embodiments, a phased array acoustic energy excitation/signal reception is performed. The transducer is covered with sealing materials to have no liquid and provided with a shield to protect the transducer.
