<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier in which water splash from a water tank is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: A holding frame 30 has openings of a large area in front and rear surfaces substantially over the entire surface. The holding frame 30 is supported by three rollers (a driving gear 51 and support rollers) in rolling contact with the outer circumferential surface of the holding frame at different positions. The holding frame has no support shaft for the rotational support on center parts of the front and rear faces thereof, and any supporting member for supporting the support shaft is not present before and behind the holding frame 30. Thus, much air passes through inside the holding frame 30 without any impairment before and behind thereof, and is brought into contact with a humidification filter 31 which is housed and held by the holding frame 30.
