<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring sensor capable of discerning an attached material such as a small animal attached to a surface of a monitoring window from a shielding material that appears within a monitored area after the monitoring area is set. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring sensor 2 includes: a detection section 21 that scans for a survey signal at least from one end of a monitored area to the other end through a monitoring window 26 to receive a survey signal reflected by an object that exists in the monitored area, thereby generating distance measurement data that correlates a plurality of scanning directions with respective distances to the object corresponding to the plurality of scanning directions; and a disturbance determination section 242 that extracts, as an adjacent measurement point, a scanning direction whose distance corresponds to the distance to the monitoring window or nearby and sets the adjacent measurement point as an object not to be determined by an obstruction determination section 243 determining whether at least a part of the monitored area is disabled for monitoring if the number of the adjacent measurement points is at or less than a first predetermined percentage of the total number of the scanning directions of the distance measurement data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
