<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-scale wind turbine tower which is not subject to the limitation by a transport infrastructure. <P>SOLUTION: The tower 210 includes at least one concrete tower section 215 having a plurality of tension cables 280. The tension cables 280 are configured to generate compressive forces in the concrete tower section 215, and disposed apart from the outer surface of the concrete tower section 215 by a substantially uniform spacing.
