<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal separator capable of preventing loss of a sample due to rise in rotor temperature during centrifugal separation. <P>SOLUTION: In the centrifugal separator including a rotor, a rotor chamber accommodating the rotor, a drive device rotating the rotor, a cooling device cooling the rotor, a control device controlling them, a display unit, and an operation unit, the centrifugal separator includes a temperature measurement means for measuring outside air temperature. The control device determines whether or not the rotor can be cooled using rotor information (type, set rotation speed) and the outside air temperature. When it cannot be cooled, error information (29) is displayed on the display unit.
