A seat belt device, comprising a spindle (11) for winding up a seat belt (13), an electric actuator (55), a pretensioner (14), and a power transmission mechanism (20). Before the pretensioner (14) is operated, the power transmission mechanism (20) can reversibly switch between the engagement and disengagement of the electric actuator (55) with and from the spindle (11). When the pretensioner (14) is operated, the electric actuator (55) is irreversibly switched to the disengagement thereof from the spindle (11). |
