A bifurcated stent apparatus (10) having a pre-delivery state and a delivered state wherein the apparatus (10) is delivered to a bifurcated vessel (7, 8), the apparatus (10) comprising:
a main stent (12), which defines a main stent lumen (42) and has a proximal end (26), a distal end (28) and a side opening (16) between the proximal and distal ends (26, 28), the side opening (16) in fluid communication with the main stent lumen (42), in the pre-delivery state the main stent (12) having a substantially constant diameter along its longitudinal axis; and
a flareable stent (15), the flareable stent (15) comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and wherein said proximal end comprises a flareable portion (18), in the pre-delivery state the flareable portion (18) is in an unflared configuration, in the delivery state the proximal end (30) of the flareable stent (15) extends into the main stent lumen (42) and engages at least a portion of the main stent (12) adjacent to the side opening (16). |
