The method involves providing an anatomical point data containing information about a spatial model of layers of patient landmarks (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) of a patient's body part that corresponds to anatomical body parts e.g. tibia (2) and fibula (9). The landmark data, which contains information about a spatial model of layers of model landmarks of a model of the body part, is provided. A body region, in which the patient's body part is provided, is determined based on the landmark data and the point data under assumption that the patient landmarks represent same landmarks as the model landmarks. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a program for determining a bodily region (2) a navigation system for determining a bodily region. |
