PURPOSE: An organic light emitting display apparatus and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the flatness of a substrate by forming a pixel definition film into an inorganic insulation film. CONSTITUTION: One or more thin film transistors are formed on a substrate(110). A flat film(114) covering the thin film transistor is formed. A pixel electrode(120) connecting with the thin film transistor is formed on the flat film. A protective layer(131) surrounding an edge of the pixel electrode is formed. A pixel definition layer(140), which exposes the pixel electrode surrounded with the protective layer, is formed. An opposing electrode(160) is formed facing the pixel electrode.
