The method involves detecting a new data stream if monitored stream packet is not relative to actual recording in a data stream register. The recording of the data stream corresponding to the packet is modified with a current time value in the register and used for verifying whether temporal data stream counters exceed respective time limits. The data stream is considered as non-authorized, and the packet is rejected if the counters exceed the limit. A data stream blocking procedure is executed if the duration of data stream exceeds its duration limit for an observation period. An independent claim is also included for a gateway device between a set of domestic network apparatuses and an external communication network i.e. Internet, offering services, comprising a digital processor.
