According to certain embodiments of the present invention, a compressor operates selectively in a TRIAC driving mode or in a mode in which commercial power is directly used in accordance with the quality of the electricity of the commercial power. According to certain embodiments of the present invention, the commercial power is directly applied to the compressor within the range of a predetermined voltage or frequency so as to reduce or remove losses caused by the TRIAC driving, and power consumption is reduced to improve energy efficiency.
