Disclosed is a rubber compounding oil which has a total aromatic fraction of not less than 50% by mass as determined according to ASTM D2007 or ASTM D2549, a flash point of not less than 250°C, a difference between the pour point and the glass transition point of not less than 45°C, a benzo(a)pylene content of not more than 1 ppm by mass, and a total content of the specific aromatic compounds (1)-(8) listed below of not more than 10 ppm by mass.
