<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring vehicle dimension that can measure vehicle dimension with high accuracy in non-contact using an inexpensive and easy processing program without providing a target on a vehicle and the like. <P>SOLUTION: Multiple laser beams are radiated so as to form a seamless line over the entire outer peripheral surface of a vehicle including the left, right and upper sides, and thereby the radiated portion can be recognized as linear light. The linear light is detected as an optical cutting plane line by a camera device and the like, and thereby an outer shape dimension of the vehicle can be measured. Whether the measured outer dimension of the vehicle is within a limit of the vehicle is determined.
