<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic which contains a nephrite powder and excels in a beautification effect. <P>SOLUTION: The cosmetic includes a nephrite powder which absorbs terahertz waves. Preferably, the nephrite should absorb terahertz waves at least two peaks in the terahertz wave range. Preferably, the nephrite should absorb terahertz waves having peaks at frequencies of about 3.34 THz and about 4.78 THz. Preferably, the nephrite should be particles having an average particle diameter of ≥0.1 to ≤50 μm. Preferably, vaseline should be used as a cosmetic base. The nephrite powder should be incorporated in an amount of 0.1-20 wt.% based on the amount of cosmetic base. Preferably, the nephrite powder should be incorporated in an amount of 0.1-1 wt.% based on the amount of cosmetic base.
