ROTOR DETECTING MECHANISM, FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce impact sound caused by backlash.

SOLUTION: A fixing nip is formed by firmly pressing a pressure roller against a fixing belt moved in circle by a fixing roller 32, and the rotation of the fixing roller 32 is detected by a rotation detecting mechanism 40. The rotation detecting mechanism 40 has a belt transmitting portion 41 in which a toothed belt 41c is wound around a first gear 41a and a second gear 41b rotated integrally with the fixing roller 32. The toothed belt 41c is elastic. A cam plate 41h is attached to the second gear 41b so as to be rotated integrally with it. A swing plate 42b is firmly pressed against the cam plate 41h, and the swing plate 42b swings by the rotation of the cam plate 41h. The swing of the swing plate 42b is detected by a photosensor 42g.
