A thin grinding wheel (1) for trimming in the form of a disc with a central axis (X) and central fastening zone (F) that is substantially concentric with the central axis is disclosed. At least one peripheral working zone (Z) extending outwardly from the outside of the central fastening zone comprising at least two layers formed from abrasive grains (3, 5) and from layers not comprising abrasive grains (2, 4, 6). The abrasive grain layers being flanked by two layers not containing abrasive grains and two of those layers not containing abrasive grains flank the wheel. The disc having a total thickness (e) of more than 2 mm and less than 4 mm in the working zone. Working zone has surfaces forming three adjacent working sectors, each of the working sectors (S1, S2, S3) being substantially perpendicular to an adjacent working sector. A method of manufacture is also disclosed.
