Discloses the use of a live or inactivated influenza virus in the manufacture of a medicament for the prophylaxis or therapy of influenza according to a treatment regimen. The medicament treatment regime comprises (i) administration by an intranasal mucosal route and (ii) a secondary parenteral administration to a subject immunized previously by mucosal administration of the live or inactivated influenza virus. The therapeutic application is for the treatment of influenza.
