PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating and/or onset inhibiting agent for influenza virus infection which can perform treatment and/or onset inhibition for influenza virus infection without being affected by changes on the side of the influenza virus such as the appearance of subtypes and variants.

SOLUTION: The treating and/or onset inhibiting agent for influenza virus infection inhibits apoptosis via the Fas ligand/Fas receptor system, and uses a substance interacting with the Fas ligand as an effective component. The investors found that the apoptosis of a mouse infected with influenza virus is inhibited to increase its survival ratio by the concrete inhibition of the function of the Fas ligand as an factor on the side of a host cell as a result of wholeheartedly research to complete this invention.
