PURPOSE: A ship and a water-turbine generating apparatus for a ship are provided to reduce resistance generated by flow of seawater around a moon pool by closing the lower part of the moon pool while a ship sails. CONSTITUTION: A water-turbine generating apparatus(160) for a ship(100) comprises a moon pool opening and closing member(162), a driving unit, a water turbine(164), and a generator. The opening(163) of the moon pool opening and closing member is vertically open. The moon pool opening and closing member moves between a first position closing moon pool(105) and a second position opening moon pool. The driving unit moves the moon pool opening and closing member between the first and second positions. The water turbine is installed on the opening of the moon pool opening and closing member.
