The element has a flexible metal tube (1) i.e. corrugated pipe, where a wall of the tube comprises circulating grooves (11, 12) pointing outward with groove walls (112, 122). A high temperature-fixed insulating material (31, 32) i.e. textile fiber product, is inserted into slots between the groove walls. The material is designed as a resilient ring that lies in a state of rest between the groove walls. The grooves comprise a standoff (113) for fixing the material. An insulating layer (4) i.e. laminate, comprises a resilient casing (43) that is resistant against chemical burdens. The textile fiber product is glass fiber and glass fiber braided rope trick. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a flexible metal tube.
