<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with improved visibility of a holding section in a process cartridge when mounted on an image forming apparatus and improving operability in attachment/detachment. <P>SOLUTION: A step in the holding section is made smaller than a step in a respective adjacent process cartridge when attached to the image forming apparatus.
