PURPOSE: A method for providing LBS(Location Based Service) and apparatus thereof are provided to offer an LBS for a mobile station embodied by a serving base station by using an LBS-zone. CONSTITUTION: A transmission unit(1015) transmits a command message which indicates the existence of an LBS-zone to a mobile station. The mobile station receives the LBS. A reception unit(1005) receives a measurement result for a reference signal transmitted by an adjacent base station located within the LBS zone from the mobile station. The reference signal is measured by using the information of the LBS-zone included in the command message.
