RADIO RELAY DEVICE AND RADIO RELAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio relay device and a radio relay method which are capable of reducing a frequency of channel switching at a LAN side relative to handover at a WAN side and realizing stable wireless LAN communication by reducing interruption of data communication associated with channel switching.

SOLUTION: A radio relay device comprises: relay processing means for performing relay processing between a wireless LAN terminal at a LAN side and a wireless LAN at a WAN side; channel switching means for avoiding interference due to proximity of channels between the wireless LANs by switching a wireless LAN channel at the LAN side depending on a wireless LAN channel at the WAN side; and control means which monitors traffic during communication between the wireless LAN terminal at the LAN side and the wireless LAN at the WAN side, and performs wireless LAN channel switching at the LAN side if a time period, when that traffic has not received, has continued a prescribed time period.
