<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a terminal to preferably intermittently operate while receiving paging information and other necessary information from a base station. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention is mainly characterized in that a plurality of DRX cycles different in length are hierarchically combined to determine a section for an intermittent operation. An upper DRX in the hierarchy has longer cycle than a lower DRX. The section for which the immediately lower DRX cycle is used is determined based on information about the upper DRX cycle.
