<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating mortar strength which allows the compressive strength of mortar to be estimated regardless of the type of a by-product added. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes estimating the compressive strength F<SB POS="POST">E</SB>at a material age of 28 days using formula (1) for the mortar containing a by-product which is fly ash, blast furnace slag, or silica fume, wherein a constant α is calculated by formula (2); the strength contribution k of a by-product is calculated by formula (3) using the constant α; and the strength contribution k of a by-product is substituted for formula (1) to estimate the compressive strength.
