<p>A rip fence 10 for a table saw has two parallel, spaced rails 30 each pivotally connected with a rotating plate 40 having a stop edge 43 pivotable between vertical (P3, figure 5) and horizontal (P4, figure 10) positions, a fence plate 80 having two orthogonal stop walls 81, 82 pivotally connected between the rotating plates so either the first or the second stop wall is flush with the stop edges of the rotating plate (P1, figure 5, P2, figure 9). For small workpieces wall 81 may act as the fence. The rip fence may be pulled out (figure 2) and fence plate rotated (figure 9), first stop wall 81 supporting the side of a large workpiece and second stop wall 82 acting as a fence. The rotating plate and fence plate can be laid flat (figure 10) supporting a large workpiece. Adjustment screws (60, 70, figure 4) may allow adjustment of the stop edge if it is not properly aligned.</p> |
