PURPOSE: A portable terminal and control method thereof are provided to enable a user to directly recognize a location of icons by reflecting the movement of the icons at a background image. CONSTITUTION: A display module(151) displays plural background images including one or more icons. A control unit(180) receives an input signal which moves one or more icons. The control unit displays plural preview images corresponding to the background images at the display module. The control unit displays the movement of the icons by reflecting the displayed background images at the preview images.
