PURPOSE: A database updating method for position determination based on wireless LAN(Local Area Network) and apparatus thereof are provided to update a database by estimating radio wave environment information in cells. CONSTITUTION: A lattice cell determination unit(210) determines information non-measurement lattice cells by using information from parameters of wireless LAN environment information matched with the lattice cells. A non-measurement parameter confirmation unit(220) confirms a non-measurement parameter at the information non-measurement lattice cell. A radio wave environment estimation unit(230) creates radio wave environment estimation information based on the confirmed non-measurement parameter. A database update unit(240) reflects the radio wave environment estimation information to the determined information non-measurement lattice cell.
