A technology is provided whereby it is possible to reliably search for the delimiter for each word and to reliably reinsert a space character as a delimiter in a foreign language document having space characters as the delimiters of words which structure a document. A determination is made according to English description rules; a determination is made according to information on the existence of a space character which is included in parent document data; a determination is made according to the similarity between character string objects which include mutually adjacent characters; and a determination is made using the determination made according to the similarity of character string objects which include mutually adjacent characters on whether or not the adjacent characters are included in the same word (that is the existence of a space). Furthermore it is desirable that for these processes the determinations are made in the described order.
