<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylene oxide adduct by which a catalyst and polyalkylene glycol are easily separated and removed from the alkylene oxide adduct. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the alkylene oxide adduct includes: (a) a step to obtain a crude alkylene oxide adduct by making an active hydrogen-containing compound and/or a fatty acid alkyl ester additionally react with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a solid catalyst for alkoxylation; (b) a step to add an organic carboxylic acid and water to the crude alkylene oxide adduct at 65 to 90°C, to adjust pH to 4.0-8.0 and the water content to 8 to 12 mass%, and thereafter cool the mixture to 40 to 60°C; and (c) a step to obtain a purified alkylene oxide adduct by centrifuging the catalyst for alkoxylation and the polyalkylene glycol by-product aggregated and separated in the step (b) and the alkylene oxide adduct which is the target substance by a predetermined centrifugal force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
