<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that can prevent the recurrence of an abnormality when a direct ON mode is set. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 comprises: a mode setting unit 24 that can set a direct ON mode for starting turning on a light source 11 when power is supplied from an external power source; an abnormality detection unit for detecting an abnormality of the projector 1; an abnormality storage unit 23 for storing the abnormality detected by the abnormality detection unit as abnormality information; an abnormality notification unit (LED 27) for notifying the abnormality information stored in the abnormality storage unit 23; and a controlling unit 20 for controlling the operation of the projector 1. In a first state where power from the external power source is cut, when the direct ON mode is set at the mode setting unit 24 and the abnormality information is stored in the abnormality storage unit 23, supplying power from the external power source causes the controlling unit 20 to switch the state to a second state where the abnormality notification unit notifies the abnormality information without turning on the light source 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
