<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of partial unevenness of print density of a thermosensitive recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A printer of the embodiment includes a platen roller, a thermal head, a detector, a changer, a motor controller, and a head controller. The thermal head abuts the platen roller via the recording medium and dividedly drives a plurality of heating elements to print on the recording medium. The detector detects a heating element that prints among heating elements of the thermal head. The changer changes a division number for dividedly driving the heating elements depending on the number of heating elements detected by the detector. The motor controller, if the division number is changed by the changer, accelerates or decelerates the rotation speed of a motor. The head controller, during acceleration or deceleration of the rotation speed of the motor, makes drive time of heating elements to be overlapped which are simultaneously driven when the heating elements are dividedly driven with a division number prior to change by the changer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
