<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the use amount of receipt paper cannot be reduced when issuing a receipt. <P>SOLUTION: A sale data processing apparatus includes a display control means, a selection accepting means, and a print data generation means. The display control means displays a selection acceptance screen for accepting one of a selection to issue a receipt having accounting information printed thereon as a text, a selection not to issue the receipt, and a selection to issue a receipt having a code symbol including the accounting information printed thereon. The selection accepting means accepts one of these selections from the selection acceptance screen.
