PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device excellent in heat radiation efficiency and the back face design thereof.

SOLUTION: An image display device 101 comprises: an display panel 102 for displaying an image; heat generating members 109 provided in a back side of the display panel 102; a cabinet which covers at least the display panel 102 and the heat generating members 109 from the back side of the display panel 102 and is provided with apertures 104a at a position opposite to the heat generating members; and switching means 114a for enabling switching of blockage/opening of the apertures. The apertures 104a are disposed so that a part 107 of a heat transfer member is extended to penetrating the aperture 104a and so that the heat transfer member can be thermally connected to the heat generating members 109 in a state in which the apertures 104a are opened by the switching means and other parts 105c and 105a of the heat transfer member are positioned on a side opposite to the display panel of the cabinet.
