<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a person driving a vehicle approaching an intersection to recognize whether or not the light color of a traffic signal will change. <P>SOLUTION: A signal control device is enabled to so change the light color of a traffic signal that a target vehicle approaching a target intersection can pass the target intersection without stopping, allows no light color change if the traffic condition around the target intersection recommends stopping or, if the condition does not recommend stopping, sets a light color control schedule allowing a light color change. An information providing device mounted on a vehicle, if the light color control schedule acquired from the signal control device allows a light color change at the signal control device (S340: YES), notifies that fact (S350) or, if no light color change is allowed (S340: NO), issues an alarm to the effect that the vehicle mounted with the information providing device cannot pass the target intersection without stopping (S370) only when the possibility of changing the light color has been altered to the negative (S360: YES). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
