<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder that can improve productivity in reading a document while preventing the document from being skewed, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic document feeder (ADF) feeds a document one by one in a separated way with cooperation of a reverse roller and a feeding sheet belt that is brought into contact with the reverse roller by a predetermined separation pressure. The automatic document feeder includes: a pull-out roller for feeding the document separated by the reverse roller and the feeding belt toward a reading position; a separation pressure switch mechanism for switching on or off the separation pressure; and a controller for controlling the separation pressure switch mechanism so that the separation pressure is released after an end point of the preceding document passes by the separation part and the separation pressure is applied before the following document is supplied to the separation part from a bundle of the documents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
