The present invention relates to an inverter cooling structure for an electric compressor of a vehicle, in which a refrigerant flowing in from a suction port coupled to a housing is compressed and discharged through a discharge port, and is also controlled by an inverter coupled to an outer surface of the housing. A cooling passage, through which the inflowing refrigerant flows, and an oil passage, through which lubricating oil flows, are each defined in the housing. The inverter is disposed at a position corresponding to that of the cooling passage or of the oil passage. Thus, the inverter is cooled by exchanging heat with the refrigerant or oil. Since oil which has a density and specific heat greater than those of the refrigerant is used, the oil is advantageous for cooling. Thus, the inverter cooling efficiency may be further improved. In addition, since the cooling passage, through which the inflowing refrigerant flows, is defined so as to pass through a position corresponding to that of an IPM heat sink of the inverter, the cooling efficiency of the IPM heat sink and of the inverter may be improved. |
