PURPOSE: A rolling machine and a method of controlling the gap of rolling rolls are intended to extend a period of replacing rolls, provide accurate size of end products and recover ductility. CONSTITUTION: A rolling machine comprises upper and lower rolls, a pair of lifting units, a motor, and a clutch(600). The upper and lower rolls are arranged in parallel at a given interval in a frame. The lifting units are connected to the left and right of the central shaft of the upper roll. The lifting units can move the upper roll closely to or far from the lower roll. The motor comprises a connecting shaft, which is connected to the lifting unit. The motor drives the lifting unit by rotating the connecting shaft. The clutch is formed on the connecting shaft to be arranged between the lifting units.
