<p>A user is registered for an electronic peer-to-peer P2P payment system by authenticating the user at an automated teller machine ATM 6 by means of a bank card, receiving the user's mobile number and associating it with the user s account. A verification code is addressed to the user's mobile number, which the user must enter in order to be registered. To activate a P2P payment application 1a on the user s phone 1, which can send and receive payments, the user can initially associate their mobile number and bank account on their phone, and then complete the process at an ATM.
