PURPOSE: A disconnector state information acquiring apparatus for a network based substation automation system and a method thereof are provided to transfer only simple information of a disconnector to the system through a network, thereby simply arranging a GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear). CONSTITUTION: A fixing part(10) is fixed within a disconnector. A rotating part(20) is arranged in order to be rotated within the fixing part. A photoelectric sensor(30-1,30-2) for acquiring disconnector input state information is installed in a first surface of the fixing part. A position displaying device(50-1,50-2) for acquiring the disconnector input state information is installed in a first surface of the rotating part. The photoelectric sensor for acquiring the disconnector input state information and the position displaying device for acquiring the disconnector input state information detect the rotation of the rotating part.
