PURPOSE: A pointing device, a control method thereof, eyeglasses for 3d image, and a display device are provided to embody 3D pointing by acquiring depth information for 3D pointing in 3D images. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) communicates with eyeglasses(200) for 3D(Dimensional) image and a display device(300). A controller(120) detects the measurement distance between the eyeglasses for 3D image and the pointing device and determines depth information for 3D pointing based on reference distance. The reference distance is related to the maximum distance between the eyeglasses for 3D image and the pointing device. A user input unit(130) receives user input. The controller detects the reference distance by corresponding to the user input.
