The invention relates to a process and installation for liquid medium quenching where the metal products to be quenched are in a field of mechanical oscillations. According to the invention, the process consists in that the parts () located in the basket () together with the cooling agent () which may be water, solutions, emulsions or mineral oils, are, during the whole supracritical cooling period, under the influence of mechanical vibrations with adjustable frequency and amplitude, the vibrations being transmitted by means of the grate () to an excitation system consisting of a frequency generator (), a power amplifier () and an electrodynamic exciter (). The claimed installation consists of a usual quenching basin () having at the lower side a grate () whereon the wire basket () with the products to be quenched () is located, the basin () having a system () for sealing the cooling medium () and a coupling bar () making the connection with the electrodynamic exciter () through a cooler (), a frequency generator () and a power amplifier (). |
