The invention discloses a loop reactor of a continuous tubular construction comprising at least two horizontal sections and at least two vertical sections wherein the reactor has a volume over 50 m, the reactor length to internal diameter ratio being less than 500. The invention also discloses a loop reactor of a continuous tubular construction comprising at least two horizontal sections and at least two vertical sections wherein the reactor has a volume over 50 mand internal diameter more than 500 mm. A reactor system comprising one or more loop reactors is also disclosed.
