PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a substrate for a display apparatus is provided to reduce manufacturing time by reducing numbers of mask usage in a manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A gate line, a gate, and a data pad are formed using a first mask unit. A gate insulation film(120) is formed on the front side of the substrate. An active layer(130) is formed using a second mask unit. A source and drain electrode(140a, 140b) of a thin film transistor and a data line are formed using a third mask unit. A first or a third contact hole is formed using a fourth mask. A pixel electrode(170), a contact electrode(170a), a gate and a data pad electrode(170b, 170c) are formed using a fifth mask.
