The present invention provides a collection device which is provided with a transfer unit which transfers at least a separator for protecting an optical material from a sheet piece having the optical material detachably laminated onto the separator, while the separator is being wound around the tip of a knife edge; a determining unit which determines whether the optical material of said sheet piece which is transferred to said tip of said knife edge is a non-defective optical material having no defect or a defective optical material having said defect; a jig which is moved to a position opposite said tip of said knife edge when said determining unit determines that said optical material is a defective optical material, and presses said defective optical material towards said separator; and a collecting unit which collects said sheet piece including said defective optical material, which was transferred via said tip of said knife edge. |
