LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to stably increase a tube current and a tube voltage by increasing a DC voltage of a PFC(Power Factor Correction) unit. CONSTITUTION: A backlight includes a lamp which provides light to a liquid crystal panel. A lamp driving unit applies a high AC voltage to a backlight and includes a feedback voltage generator(570) and a PFC unit(520). The feedback voltage generator generates a feedback voltage by comparing a preset reference voltage with the high AC voltage. The PFC unit outputs a high DC voltage by compensating a power factor and controls the increment of the high DC voltage according to the feedback voltage received from the feedback voltage generator. A lamp driving unit receives the feedback voltage from the feedback voltage generator and controls a duty width of a PWM control signal.
